UFC 107 and a girl who likes MMA

My friends are all like what's up Josh and I am like yo I am busy chatting with girl online and it sounds like some gay scene from Napolean Dynamite but it is true. Why go out to bars and stuff when it is so much easier and cheaper to meet girls online. You get to find out lots of stuff about them and qualify them before you ever spend time going to meet them. To me this seems like a much more efficient use of time. So about this Austrian girl Rhonda... I am going to take her out on Friday night for dinner etc. I will let you know how that goes.

Yesterday I met a girl online named Vicky who is a big mma fan. This is the first girl that I have met who is actually into mixed martial arts. Speaking on mma, I hope you all watched UFC 107 last night cuz it was free and on tv. If you haven't watched it yet and don't want spoilers then stop reading this blog now. First I wanna talk about the Frank Mir vs Cheik Congo fight cuz that was the best fight and cuz my buddy bet $100 on Franky. I was worried that Mir would not be able to stand and trade with Congo and I had said to him just as the fight was starting that he better get him to the ground and not trade with him on the feet. I was however surprised when shortly into the first round Mir clipped Congo on the chin with a punch and it sent him flying to the ground. At first I thought that he had rocked him, but in the replay you could see that Kongo was fine and actually had kicked Mir in the legs as Mir was coming down on him. Congo tried to stand up and got caught in a guillotine. It started as a standing guillotine and then Mir sort of fell to his back and had one foot on the cage. It seemed like Kongo was about to pull his head out but Mir kept squeezing knowing that if Congo did get his head out, Mir would have been eating a lot of ground and pound and I am not sure he would have been able to survive that attack from the top. Eventually Congo just went to sleep, he never tapped out and the ref had to light his arm up and drop it like old school WWF style. Powned bizznatch!

The main event was of course BJ Penn vs Diago Sanchez. When I watched UFC Countdown they showed what insane crazy shape BJ was in and that he got these two awesome personal trainers to come and help him and they said they were focusing on his nervous system which I thought was an interesting approach. So most of the fight was pretty lame. Sanchez has shitty stand up and never really even got close to hitting Penn at all. Sanchez kept trying to take Penn down - I mean he tried to take him down like 20 times and everytime he failed. Penn would just stand there and hop around on one foot while Sanchez would cling to a single or double arm. It was pretty lame until the 5th round when BJ Penn kicked Sanchez in the head with a high kick and opened up a massive 2 inch long cut on his forehead. A few minutes later Herb Dean called timeout to look at the cut and with one look from the doctor he waived it off and it was all over. Just like Joe Rogan said, the only fighter that is going to be able to beat BJ Penn will be someone with advanced striking skills and the ability to prevent takedowns. I will tell you more about Vicky later cuz I have to go now.
